DRAGON DOOR KNOCKER (Medium) Sculpture Hand Forged and Signed by Blacksmith Naz - Original Design - Functional Art - Metal Dragon - Dragons

This one is a medium sized version of my Large dragon door knocker...

Blacksmith forged, this functional piece of wall (door) art will be a conversation striker with all your guests.

The dragon's head starts out as 3/8" solid round stock iron and comes to life on the anvil under the hammer blows at a yellow/orange heat. Details are then added using hand held punches that I made (eye punch, nostril punch, etc...).

After the head is complete, it's back to the fire to heat and form the body with long smooth curves, loops, and a pointy curved tail...

The wings are laser cut , I bring them to an orange heat in the forge and hammer them all around to give them texture and match the hand forged dragon.... I also stamp my logo signature "Naz" in the wings at this moment...

I then drill a hole in the dragon's neck to insert the pivot pin so it moves freely allowing the dragon's whole body to rock back and forth in a knocking motion.
The pivot pin bracket is welded to the wings which are secured to the door (or wall) with 2 screws.

The back plate is a 1/4" thick flat bar that measures 2" x 2". It is hammered all around , this plate is also fixed to the door (or wall) with 4 screws.

The dragon's stands approximately 9-1/2" tall with a wingspan of 6" wide.

After cleaning, I triple clear coated the dragon door knocker to keep the raw iron look.


Included are 6 decorative wood screws that match the ironwork.

This signed metal sculpture is a highly decorative and functional piece of art that will last for generations.
