The perfect gift for that special person who appreciates a cold one...Each one is made by hand and offer quality and originality that you simply can not get from a machine...
(Comes in a black velvet gift pouch, ready to offer as a gift)
Hand forged from 5/16" square stock iron, one end of the bottle opener is split & formed in the shape of a heart. This also serves as a "stopper" at the handle end..
As for the "working" end, I forged a smooth taper and formed a scroll so there is no pointy tip... Next I formed smooth curves so a part of the curve sits on top of the bottle cap and a hammered "dimple" smoothly lifts the cap off as you apply pressure upwards...
Each opener is made by hand, one at a time at approximately 1800 degrees farenheight at the anvil with my hand hammer...
Total lenght of the heart shaped bottle opener is approximately 6".
I put a lot of importance in cleaning each opener after it has been hammered, bent into shape, and "in and out" of the fire numerous times...I acheive the clean look you see in the photos by using the wire wheel and sandpaper, this leaves each opener with a clean attractive look that is perfect for gift giving...
After cleaning, I clear coat the bottle opener for protection and to keep the raw iron look.
This item is made strong to last long !
